Possible Causes

Jammed conical burrs, Failed grinder motor, Faulty grinder position or speed sensor, Loose grinder harness connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the machine before working near the grinder. Keep fingers away from burrs.

Basic checks:

  • Empty the hopper: Remove beans and vacuum out any debris or stones.
  • Check for jams: Remove the upper burr carrier and inspect the conical burrs for compacted coffee or foreign objects. Clean thoroughly with a brush.
  • Adjust grind: Set the grind to a coarser setting and re-test. Very fine settings can overload the motor.

Advanced diagnostics:

  • Inspect the grinder motor wiring and connector to the main PCB.
  • Spin the burr shaft by hand; it should rotate smoothly without grinding noises.
  • Use a multimeter to test the grinder motor windings for continuity.

Resolution: If the grinder is free of jams but ER07 persists, replace the grinder motor assembly or the grinder sensor (if separate). If the motor and sensor test good, the control board may be failing to drive the grinder and should be checked by a technician.
