Restricted Brew Flow / Scale Buildup
Bunn coffee maker brews extremely slowly; it takes much longer than normal to fill the carafe.

Possible Causes
Mineral scale in internal tubing, Partially clogged sprayhead, Clogged restrictor or flow control, Low water pressure (plumbed models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the brewer and let it cool before servicing.
Steps:
- 1. Clean sprayhead: Remove and thoroughly clean the sprayhead as described in the manual. Ensure all holes are open.
- 2. Descale brewer: Run a descaling cycle using a Bunn-approved descaler or a mixture of white vinegar and water (check your manual for ratios). Fill the tank, run partial brews, and let the solution soak to dissolve scale. Rinse with several full tanks of fresh water afterward.
- 3. Inspect restrictor: Access the restrictor or flow control fitting in the outlet path and soak it in descaler. Replace if heavily obstructed or damaged.
- 4. Check water supply (plumbed): Ensure the inlet screen at the water connection is clean and that supply pressure is adequate. Clean or replace any clogged inlet filters.
Note: Regular descaling is critical in hard water areas to maintain proper brew time and temperature.
