Steps:
- 1. Initial cleaning: Before first use, run several full tanks of plain water through the brewer and discard the water.
- 2. Use mild detergent: Wash removable parts (funnel, carafe, reservoir) with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- 3. Baking soda rinse: Brew a cycle with a solution of 1–2 tablespoons of baking soda dissolved in a full tank of water, then rinse with 2–3 tanks of fresh water.
- 4. Avoid harsh chemicals: Do not use bleach or strong solvents inside the brewer; they can leave residues and damage components.
