Possible Causes
Corrupted control board firmware, Failed control PCB, Loose ribbon cable to display/keypad, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the brewer before accessing the control area.
Steps:
- 1. Hard reset: Unplug the unit for at least 10 minutes to fully discharge internal capacitors. Plug back in and check if E06 clears.
- 2. Inspect keypad/display connections: Remove the front panel or top cover to access the control board. Check the ribbon cable between the keypad/display and the main PCB. Reseat both ends carefully.
- 3. Look for moisture: Inspect the control area for signs of steam or water intrusion. Dry any moisture and correct any gasket or cover issues that allowed it in.
- 4. Check for burn marks: Examine the control board for burnt components, swollen capacitors, or cracked solder joints. If present, the board should be replaced.
- 5. Surge protection: If the error followed a power outage or lightning event, the board may be damaged. Use a surge protector after replacing the board.
Note: Control board replacement usually requires transferring wiring harnesses one at a time to avoid miswiring. Photograph connections before removal.
