Possible Causes
Failed brew solenoid valve, Clogged brew valve from scale, Damaged brew valve wiring, Control board output failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the brewer and allow it to cool. Shut off water supply if you will be opening the water path.
Steps:
- 1. Listen during brew attempt: Start a brew and listen for the click of the brew solenoid (if safe to do so). No click may indicate a failed coil or control output.
- 2. Inspect brew valve: Access the brew solenoid valve (usually near the outlet of the hot water tank leading to the sprayhead). Check for leaks, corrosion, or loose connectors.
- 3. Test coil: With power disconnected, measure resistance across the solenoid coil. An open reading indicates a failed coil; replace the brew solenoid valve assembly.
- 4. Clean internal passages: Remove the valve and inspect for mineral scale or debris. Soak in descaling solution if needed, then flush thoroughly before reinstalling.
- 5. Check wiring and board: Verify the harness from the control board to the valve is intact. If the coil tests good but never energizes, the control board output may be defective.
Note: After service, run multiple brew cycles to confirm consistent flow and that E08 does not recur.
