Possible Causes
Heavy limescale in thermoblock and tubing, Clogged filter basket or paper filter, Partially blocked shower screen, Weak pump performance
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the unit to cool before cleaning internal water paths.
Steps:
- Check filter basket: Ensure you are not overfilling with very fine coffee grounds. Try a coarser grind and avoid compressing the grounds.
- Clean the filter holder: Remove the filter basket and clean the drip hole and drip stop valve. Coffee oils and fines can clog this area.
- Clean shower screen: Wipe the underside of the brew head/shower screen with a damp cloth. If removable, soak in warm soapy water and scrub gently.
- Descale thoroughly: Run a full descaling cycle, then repeat if the machine has never been descaled. Slow flow is often due to scale in the thermoblock.
- If still slow: The pump may be weakening or internal tubing may be heavily restricted. Pump or tubing replacement may be required.
