Possible Causes
Pump rotor jammed by debris, Check valve stuck closed due to scale, Severe air lock in pump, Failing pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and let it cool before attempting any repair.
Steps:
- Descale aggressively: Run a strong descaling solution through the machine to free any stuck valves. You may need to start and stop the brew cycle several times to work the solution through.
- Prime the pump: Fill the reservoir completely and raise it slightly (if removable) to help gravity-feed water into the pump.
- Tap gently: With the unit unplugged, gently tap the side of the machine near the pump area to dislodge minor obstructions (do not strike hard).
- Test again: Plug in and attempt a brew. If the buzzing persists with no flow, the pump is likely failing.
- Replace pump: A seized or weak pump must be replaced with the correct Capresso pump assembly.
