Safety first: Unplug the unit and clean any spilled hot coffee before further use.

Steps:

Verify settings: Confirm that the brew size is set correctly on the control panel and that any program settings are not overriding your selection.
Reset to factory defaults: If your Capresso model allows, perform a factory reset to clear any corrupted settings (see user manual).
Descale: Mineral buildup can affect flow meter performance. Run a full descaling cycle and then test brew volume again.
Measure output: Brew a cycle into a measuring jug to see how much water is actually dispensed versus the selected size.
Hardware repair: If the machine consistently overfills despite resets and descaling, the flow meter or control board may need replacement.
