Possible Causes
Brew water not reaching proper temperature, Too coarse grind, Water bypassing grounds due to channeling, Clogged shower screen causing uneven flow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before cleaning internal brew components.
Steps:
- Check coffee grind and dose: Use a medium grind suitable for drip coffee and follow Capresso’s recommended scoop count.
- Preheat carafe: Rinse the carafe with hot water before brewing to maintain brew temperature.
- Clean shower screen and filter basket: Remove any coffee oils and residue from the shower screen and basket to ensure even water distribution.
- Descale: Scale buildup can reduce heating efficiency. Run a descaling cycle to restore proper brew temperature.
- Temperature issue: If coffee remains weak and lukewarm, the heater or thermostat may not be reaching the correct temperature and may require replacement.
