Possible Causes
Air-locked or failed pump, Clogged inlet screen in water reservoir base, Blocked internal tubing due to scale, Faulty flow meter stuck closed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and let it cool before handling the reservoir or base.
Steps:
- Check water reservoir: Ensure it is filled and properly seated. Inspect the bottom valve and any mesh screen for debris; rinse thoroughly.
- Prime the pump: Fill the tank to the maximum line, reseat it, then plug in and start a brew cycle. Sometimes running 2–3 cycles in a row can clear an air lock.
- Descale: Run a descaling solution through the machine to dissolve mineral buildup in the pump and tubing. Follow with several tanks of fresh water.
- Listen for pump noise: If the pump hums loudly but no water moves, it may be seized or blocked. If there is no sound at all, the pump may not be receiving power or is open-circuit.
- Advanced repair: If flow does not return after descaling and priming, the pump or flow meter likely needs replacement.
