Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on control board, Failed power cord or plug, Faulty power switch, Burned main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before any inspection. Do not attempt live electrical measurements unless you are trained and equipped.
Steps:
- Check outlet and breaker: Test the wall outlet with another appliance. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks on the Capresso power cord. If damaged, the cord must be replaced; do not tape or splice it.
- Try a different outlet: Plug the machine into a known-good outlet without an extension cord.
- Check power switch: Ensure the main power switch (if present) is in the ON position and not physically loose or broken.
- Internal fuse (advanced): Many Capresso models have a small fuse on the control board or power entry. With the unit unplugged and bottom cover removed, visually inspect for a blown fuse (darkened or broken filament). Replace only with the exact same rating.
- If still dead: The main control board or internal wiring may be faulty. Professional diagnosis and board replacement are recommended.
