Possible Causes

Faulty brew button on control panel, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and control board, Control board logic failure, Child lock or pause mode engaged (on some models)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before inspecting buttons or opening any covers.

User checks:

  • Verify the unit is plugged directly into a working outlet and that any outlet switch is ON.
  • Ensure the water reservoir is full, the carafe is in place, and the lid is fully closed; many Chefman models will not start unless all interlocks are satisfied.
  • Press and hold the brew button for 3–5 seconds in case your model uses a long-press to start.
  • Try a full power reset: unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in and test.

If the button feels stuck or unresponsive:

  • Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove sticky residue.
  • If the physical button does not click or respond, the keypad membrane or control PCB may need replacement, which requires opening the housing.
