Possible Causes

Brew path timer reached cleaning threshold, Coffee oil buildup in brew head and filter basket, Sensor detecting restricted flow

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit when handling removable parts.

Cleaning steps:

  • Remove and wash the carafe, filter basket, reusable filter (if equipped), and drip tray in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Wipe the brew head and surrounding area with a damp cloth to remove coffee residue.
  • Run a cleaning cycle if your Chefman model has one (consult manual). Typically this involves filling the reservoir with water and pressing a dedicated CLEAN button.
  • If no dedicated cycle exists, run 1–2 full brew cycles with plain water (no coffee) to flush the system.

The CLEAN indicator should clear after the cycle completes. If it does not, a control board reset may be required.
