Possible Causes

Flow meter turbine blocked by scale or debris, Airlock in inlet tubing from reservoir, Flow sensor wiring harness loose or damaged, Failed flow meter sensor on inlet line

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before handling the reservoir or tipping the unit.

Steps to clear flow issues:

  • Check water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled above the minimum line and properly seated.
  • Remove airlocks: Remove the reservoir, fill it completely, then reinstall firmly. Start a brew cycle with no coffee. If the pump hums but no water flows, stop the cycle, remove and reinstall the reservoir, and try again.
  • Descale the inlet path: Run a 1:1 vinegar and water solution through the machine. If almost no water moves, let the solution sit in the reservoir for 20–30 minutes, then try again. This can dissolve scale around the flow meter turbine.
  • Inspect reservoir outlet: Check the bottom valve of the reservoir (if present) for clogs. Clean with a small brush or toothpick, being careful not to damage seals.

If E3 remains: The flow meter assembly or its wiring may be defective. Replacement requires opening the unit and is best handled by a technician.
