Display shows “ERR 2” and the unit shuts down shortly after starting.

Safety first: Immediately unplug the coffee maker. Overheating can be a fire hazard.

• Allow full cool-down: Let the unit cool for at least 30–60 minutes before touching any surfaces.
• Check for burning smell or discoloration: Inspect the underside and sides of the unit for scorch marks or melted plastic. If present, do not use the machine again.
• Descale if no visible damage: If there are no signs of burning, perform a full descale with a 1:1 vinegar-water solution to remove scale that may be causing hot spots.
• Test carefully: After descaling and rinsing, plug in and run a short brew cycle with water only while monitoring for abnormal smells or noises.
• Persistent ERR 2: If the error returns, the thermistor or control board is likely defective. Do not attempt to bypass safety devices. Seek professional repair or replacement.
