Possible Causes
Burned-out warming plate element, Failed warming plate thermostat, Faulty keep-warm relay on control board, Broken wiring to hot plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before touching the hot plate.
- Check keep-warm settings: Ensure the keep-warm function is enabled and the time/temperature are set correctly according to your model.
- Test with fresh brew: Brew a small pot and feel (carefully) if the plate warms up within a few minutes. Do not leave your hand on the plate.
- Listen for clicks: Some models make a faint click when the warming plate relay engages; absence may indicate a control issue.
- Internal repair: If the plate never heats, the element, thermostat, or relay may be failed. These components are inside the base and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
