Steam or water escapes from around the lid during brewing.

Safety first: Steam can cause serious burns. Do not place your face or hands near escaping steam.

• Check fill level: Ensure you are not filling above the MAX line.
• Inspect lid gasket: Open the lid and examine the rubber gasket for cracks, warping, or debris. Clean it with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
• Clear vents: Locate any small vent holes in the lid and gently clean them with a toothpick or soft brush.
• Test again: Brew with water only and observe. If steam still escapes heavily, the gasket or lid may need replacement.
• Replace lid assembly: If the lid is warped or the gasket is deteriorated, replace the lid or gasket with a Cuisinart-compatible part.
