Possible Causes

Grounds container not fully inserted, Drip tray misaligned, Dirty or stuck container presence microswitch, Broken container detection tab

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the machine before reaching inside the service door.

  • Remove and clean: Open the service door, remove the coffee grounds container and drip tray. Empty and rinse them thoroughly, ensuring no coffee pucks or residue obstruct the guides.
  • Dry and reseat: Dry the parts completely and slide the drip tray and grounds container back in firmly until they are fully seated. Listen/feel for a positive click.
  • Check detection tab: Inspect the plastic tab or protrusion on the grounds container that actuates the internal microswitch. If it is broken or bent, the machine will not detect the container.
  • Clean switch area: With a flashlight, look inside where the container slides in. Wipe away any coffee grounds that may block the microswitch lever.
  • If A3 persists: The container presence microswitch or its wiring may be faulty. Replacement of the switch assembly is required and should be done by a qualified technician.
