Possible Causes

Excess coffee dose causing mechanical overload, Hardened coffee deposits in brew chamber, Worn brew group seals increasing friction, Faulty brew group drive motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the machine before removing the brew group.

  • Remove and clean brew group: Take out the infuser and rinse thoroughly. Pay attention to the upper and lower filters and the piston area. Remove compacted coffee with a soft brush.
  • Reduce coffee strength: If you use maximum strength or very fine grind, reduce the coffee strength setting and/or adjust the grinder to a slightly coarser setting.
  • Lubricate moving parts: Apply a thin layer of food-grade silicone grease to the brew group rails and piston shaft to reduce friction.
  • Check for foreign objects: Inspect the brew group compartment for stray coffee beans or objects obstructing movement.
  • Test: Reinstall the brew group and run a rinse cycle. If the machine completes the cycle without error, test a coffee brew.
  • If A5 persists: The brew group motor or gear train may be failing and should be replaced by a professional technician.
