Possible Causes
Faulty main drive motor, Broken gear in transmission, Jammed internal mechanism, Motor control board failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug the machine, and do not attempt to force any internal parts.
- Power reset: Leave the machine unplugged for at least 10 minutes to allow the control electronics to fully discharge. Plug back in and power ON to see if the error clears.
- Check for obvious jams: Remove the brew group and drip tray. Inspect the interior for loose parts, broken plastic, or foreign objects that could block the drive mechanism.
- Listen for motor: When turning the machine ON (with covers in place), listen for the drive motor attempting to move. A loud grinding or no sound at all can indicate mechanical or electrical failure.
- User-level actions exhausted: There are no safe user-serviceable repairs for internal drive motor or gear failures.
- Service required: Contact an authorized De'Longhi service center for diagnosis and replacement of the drive motor or transmission assembly.
