Possible Causes
Dirty or misaligned position sensor, Broken sensor magnet on brew group, Loose sensor wiring, Failed position sensor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the machine before removing the brew group.
- Clean brew group: Remove the infuser and clean it thoroughly, especially around any magnets or metal tabs used for position detection.
- Clean sensor area: With a flashlight, locate the position sensor area inside the brew group compartment (often near the drive gear). Gently clean away coffee dust with a dry brush or compressed air.
- Inspect magnets/tabs: Check for missing or broken magnets or plastic tabs on the brew group that align with the sensor. If broken, the brew group may need replacement.
- Reinstall and test: Reinsert the brew group, ensuring it is fully locked. Power ON and observe whether the machine completes its startup cycle.
- If A7 persists: The position sensor or control board may be defective. Professional diagnosis and replacement are required.
