Possible Causes

Blocked or failed flow meter, Airlock in inlet line or pump, Faulty vibration pump, Flow meter signal not reaching main control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before removing covers. Keep water away from electrical parts.

Basic user checks:

  • Check water tank: Ensure the Dualit water tank is full, correctly seated, and that the outlet valve at the base is opening properly.
  • Bleed air from system: Fill the tank, reinstall, then run a hot water or manual prime cycle (if available). Open the steam/hot water knob and run the pump for 30–60 seconds to purge air.
  • Check for kinks: Inspect the silicone inlet hose from tank to pump (if visible) for kinks or crushing.

Internal checks (advanced):

  • Access the flow meter: Remove the top/rear cover to locate the small plastic flow meter (usually between tank and boiler, with two or three wires).
  • Inspect for blockage: Disconnect hoses (have towels ready) and check for scale or debris inside the flow meter. Rinse with warm water and, if needed, soak in descaler. Do not scratch the internal rotor.
  • Check electrical connection: Ensure the flow meter plug is firmly connected to the main PCB and wires are intact.
  • Test pump operation: With the machine reassembled enough for safe testing, briefly run a brew cycle. Listen for the vibration pump. If it hums but no water moves, the pump or inlet is blocked. If it is silent, the pump or PCB drive may be faulty.

Note: If cleaning the flow meter and bleeding air does not clear E02, replacement of the flow meter or pump may be required. PCB diagnosis should be left to a professional.
