Possible Causes
Brew water not reaching proper temperature, Too fast water flow through grounds, Incorrect grind size, Faulty thermostat or heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before any internal checks.
- Adjust coffee and grind: Use a medium grind and increase the coffee dose slightly to see if taste improves.
- Descale: Mineral buildup can affect temperature. Run a full descaling cycle with vinegar and water.
- Check brew temperature (advanced): Use a food thermometer to measure coffee temperature in the carafe immediately after brewing. It should typically be around 180–190°F (82–88°C). If significantly lower, the heater or thermostat may be failing.
- Replace thermostat/heater: If brew temperature is consistently low, have the thermostat or heating element assembly inspected and replaced.
