Possible Causes
Faulty temperature sensor reading too low, Stuck warming plate thermostat, Excessive warming plate temperature setting, Coffee left on plate for too long
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug and cool the unit before internal checks.
- 1. Adjust usage:
- Avoid leaving coffee on the warming plate for extended periods; transfer to a thermal carafe if possible.
- 2. Check warming plate thermostat:
- Access the underside of the warming plate and locate the thermostat.
- Test its opening temperature if possible (requires controlled heating) or replace if suspected stuck closed.
- 3. Inspect temperature sensor:
- Test the NTC thermistor for correct resistance; a sensor reading too low will cause overheating.
- Replace the sensor if out of specification.
- 4. Control board calibration:
- If all hardware checks out but coffee is still excessively hot, the control board may be misregulating temperature; replace the main control PCB.
