Possible Causes
Blown internal thermal fuse in power circuit, Open line filter or surge protector, Severed internal wiring, Failed main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the coffee maker before opening. Use caution around mains wiring.
- 1. Confirm outlet and cord:
- Test the outlet with another appliance.
- Inspect the Frigidaire power cord for damage; replace if any cuts or burns are present.
- 2. Access internal power path:
- Remove the bottom or rear cover to expose the incoming power wiring.
- Locate the thermal fuse (often wrapped in heat-resistant sleeving near the heater or line input).
- 3. Test thermal fuse:
- Disconnect one lead and check continuity with a multimeter.
- If open, replace with the same temperature and current rating. Investigate for overheating causes (scale, blocked vents).
- 4. Inspect wiring and control board:
- Check for loose spade connectors, burnt wires, or damaged line filter components.
- If power reaches the control board but the display remains dead, replace the main control PCB.
