Possible Causes

Blown internal thermal fuse on control board, Failed main control PCB, Damaged power cord, Faulty on/off rocker or membrane switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before any disassembly. Never work on a live appliance.

  • 1. Verify outlet and cord:
    • Test the wall outlet with another appliance to confirm power.
    • Inspect the Frigidaire coffee maker power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks. If damaged, replace the cord assembly.
  • 2. Check the power switch:
    • Remove the bottom or rear cover (typically Phillips screws) to access the on/off switch or front membrane switch harness.
    • Use a multimeter in continuity mode to test the switch. It should show continuity when pressed ON.
    • If the switch is open in both positions, replace the power switch or front control panel assembly.
  • 3. Inspect the main control PCB:
    • Locate the main control board behind the front display or under the top cover.
    • Look for a small thermal fuse or fusible resistor on the board or in-line with the incoming AC wiring.
    • If the thermal fuse is open (no continuity), replace it with the same rating and investigate for overheating causes (scale buildup, blocked vents).
    • Check for burnt components or cracked solder joints. If present, replace the main control PCB.
  • 4. Reassemble and test:
    • Reinstall covers and screws securely.
    • Plug in and test power. If still dead after these checks, the control board is the most likely failed part and should be replaced.
