Possible Causes
Clogged water inlet screen, Scaled internal water tubing, Partially blocked one-way valve, Weak or failing water pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and let it cool before handling internal parts.
- 1. Descale the system:
- Fill the water reservoir with a 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and water.
- Run a brew cycle without coffee grounds. If the unit stops again, let it sit 20 minutes, then restart.
- Repeat until the full reservoir has cycled through, then run 2–3 full reservoirs of clean water to rinse.
- 2. Clean the inlet screen:
- Remove the water reservoir and inspect the base where it seats on the coffee maker.
- Use a soft brush or toothbrush to clean any mesh screen or inlet port of debris or coffee grounds.
- 3. Inspect internal tubing and one-way valve:
- Remove the top cover to access silicone water lines and the one-way valve near the heater.
- Check for kinks, mineral buildup, or blockages. Soak removable silicone tubing in warm vinegar solution, then flush with water.
- If the one-way valve is stuck or clogged, replace the valve assembly.
- 4. Evaluate the water pump:
- Locate the small vibration or rotary pump (depending on model) connected to the reservoir outlet.
- Check electrical connections and test pump resistance with a multimeter (compare to service specs if available).
- If the pump hums but does not move water even after cleaning lines, replace the water pump.
- 5. Reassemble and test:
- Reinstall all tubing and covers securely to prevent leaks.
- Run multiple water-only cycles to confirm normal flow and that E03 no longer appears.
