E12 error appears and the coffee maker shuts down shortly after starting; internal fan (if equipped) does not run.

Safety: Unplug the unit and let it cool before servicing.

• 1. Check ventilation:
  • Inspect the sides and back of the coffee maker for blocked vents.
  • Clean dust and debris from grills using a soft brush or vacuum.
• 2. Inspect the fan (if your Frigidaire model has one):
  • Remove the rear cover to access the internal cooling fan.
  • Spin the fan blades by hand; they should move freely without resistance.
  • If seized or noisy, replace the fan assembly.
• 3. Test fan power:
  • With the unit unplugged, check continuity of the fan motor windings.
  • Verify the fan connector is firmly attached to the control board.
• 4. Check fan driver circuit:
  • On the control board, inspect the transistor or driver IC that powers the fan for signs of overheating.
  • If damaged, replace the control board.
• 5. Reassemble and test:
  • Reinstall covers, plug in, and run a brew cycle to confirm the fan runs and E12 does not reappear.
