Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing the bean hopper or grinder area.
Unjamming procedure:
- Empty bean hopper: Remove all beans from the hopper. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove loose grounds from the top of the grinder.
- Adjust grind setting: Turn the grind adjustment knob to a coarser setting (only while the grinder is running in normal use; for now just set it to a mid-coarse position).
- Check for foreign objects: Inspect the hopper and visible grinder inlet for stones or hard objects and remove them.
- Run a test: Plug the machine back in, add a small amount of beans, and start a coffee cycle. Listen for normal grinder sound. If it stalls or makes a loud humming noise, unplug immediately.
Deeper cleaning (if accessible on your model):
- Remove the top burr carrier (often by turning counterclockwise) and clean out compacted coffee with a brush.
- Inspect burrs for damage or excessive wear and replace if needed.
If E06 persists after cleaning and burr replacement, the grinder motor or its sensor may be defective and should be replaced by a service technician.
