Possible Causes

Failed ULKA vibration pump, Blocked overpressure valve (OPV), Severe limescale in hydraulic circuit, Airlock that cannot be purged

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing internal components.

User-level steps:

  • Check water tank and filter: Ensure the tank is full, seated correctly, and that any water filter (Intenza+ or similar) is not clogged. Try removing the filter and testing again.
  • Bleed air: Run hot water through the steam/hot water wand for 30–60 seconds to purge air.
  • Descale: Run a full descaling cycle to clear limescale from the pump and OPV.

Internal checks (advanced):

  • Access the pump and OPV assembly.
  • Check pump operation: During a brew command (with caution and proper insulation), listen for the pump. A loud buzzing with no water flow suggests blockage; silence suggests pump failure.
  • Inspect and clean the OPV and connected hoses for blockages.

If the pump does not run or has very weak output, replace the ULKA pump. If E10 persists with a new pump, the control board or pressure control components may require professional diagnosis.
