Possible Causes

Leaking silicone hose or O-ring, Cracked boiler or hydraulic manifold, Faulty internal leak sensor or float switch, Loose hose clamp on pump or boiler

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine immediately if you suspect an internal leak. Water and electricity are a dangerous combination.

Initial steps:

  • Empty drip tray: Remove and empty the drip tray and internal waste water container. Dry the area thoroughly.
  • Visual inspection: With the covers removed (if you are comfortable doing so), look for obvious signs of water trails, mineral deposits, or damp insulation.

Leak tracing:

  • Fill the water tank and place paper towels under suspect areas (pump, boiler, valves, hose joints).
  • Plug in and run a rinse or hot water cycle while observing for drips.
  • Tighten or replace any leaking hose clamps and replace hardened or flattened O-rings on quick-connect fittings.

If a component such as the boiler, hydraulic manifold, or internal water tank is cracked, it must be replaced. If the leak sensor or float switch is faulty, replace that sensor. For extensive leaks or if you are unsure, contact a Gaggia service center.
