Safety first: Unplug the machine before touching the grinder area.
Checks:
- Fill hopper: Ensure the bean hopper has enough beans and that no foreign objects are present.
- Unjam grinder: Follow the grinder cleaning steps: empty hopper, vacuum loose grounds, inspect for stones, and clean the top burr area.
- Test operation: Plug in and start a coffee cycle. Listen for grinder operation.
Sensor inspection (advanced):
- Access the grinder motor and sensor (often a Hall sensor or optical encoder).
- Check that the sensor is correctly positioned and that its wiring is intact.
