Possible Causes

Shorted thermistor, Thermistor wires pinched against metal chassis, Moisture on sensor connector, Control board fault reading sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and let it cool before inspection.

  • 1. Inspect for moisture: Remove the base or rear cover and check around the heater and sensor for any water or coffee leaks. Dry thoroughly with a cloth and allow to air dry.
  • 2. Check thermistor wiring: Look for damaged insulation or wires pinched between panels. If wires are shorted together or to the chassis, carefully reposition and insulate them with high-temperature electrical tape.
  • 3. Reseat sensor connector: Disconnect and reconnect the thermistor plug at the control board to clear any poor contact.
  • 4. Test thermistor resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance at room temperature. A near-zero reading suggests a shorted sensor. Replace if readings are abnormal.
  • 5. If ERR2 persists: The control board’s sensor input circuit may be damaged and the main control board may need replacement.
