Possible Causes
Airlock in water line, Failed vibration pump, Blocked inlet or outlet line, Faulty flow sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and let it cool before opening any panels.
- 1. Check reservoir and seating: Ensure the water reservoir is full and properly seated. Remove and reinstall it firmly.
- 2. Prime the pump: Fill the reservoir completely. With the unit plugged in, start a brew cycle and gently tap the side of the machine near the pump area to help clear airlocks. If your model has a hot water or rinse function, run that to help prime.
- 3. Descale for flow: Run a descaling cycle to clear any mineral buildup that may be restricting the pump or flow sensor.
- 4. Inspect pump (advanced): Unplug the unit, remove the base, and locate the vibration pump. Check for kinked silicone hoses or blockages at the pump inlet/outlet. Straighten hoses and clear any debris.
- 5. Replace pump or flow sensor: If the pump does not vibrate when a brew is started, or if ERR5 persists despite good flow, the pump or flow sensor may be defective and should be replaced.
