Possible Causes
Empty reservoir, Misaligned reservoir valve, Blocked inlet screen, Failed water level or flow sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before removing the reservoir or base panels.
- 1. Fill reservoir: Ensure the water reservoir is filled to at least the minimum level mark.
- 2. Reseat reservoir: Remove and reinstall the reservoir, making sure the bottom valve (if present) opens when seated on the base. Listen for a slight click or feel for engagement.
- 3. Clean inlet screen and valve: Inspect the base where the reservoir sits. Clean any debris or scale from the inlet screen and reservoir valve using a soft brush and warm water.
- 4. Run a priming cycle: If your GE model has a hot water or rinse function, run it to help draw water through the system and clear airlocks.
- 5. Inspect sensors (advanced): If the error persists, access the internal water level or flow sensor and check wiring. Replace the sensor assembly if it fails continuity or appears damaged.
