Possible Causes
Burned-out warming plate element, Faulty warming plate thermostat, Failed control board relay, Broken wiring to hot plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool before accessing the base.
- 1. Confirm brew temperature: If coffee is hot when brewed but cools quickly, the issue is likely the warming plate, not the main heater.
- 2. Access warming plate wiring: Remove the base to expose the warming plate terminals and wiring.
- 3. Test warming element: Use a multimeter to check resistance across the warming plate element. An open circuit indicates a failed element.
- 4. Check thermostat and relay: Test continuity through the warming plate thermostat. If open when cool, replace it. If the element and thermostat are good, the control board relay may not be energizing and the board may need replacement.
