Possible Causes
Too fine or too much coffee grounds, Clogged paper filter, Misaligned brew basket, Worn basket gasket or drip stop valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool before cleaning up hot coffee spills.
- 1. Reduce coffee amount: Use the recommended amount and grind size for your GE coffee maker. Avoid very fine espresso grinds.
- 2. Check filter placement: Ensure the paper filter is properly seated and not folded over the edge of the basket.
- 3. Clean brew basket and drip stop: Remove the basket and clean the drip stop valve and outlet hole. Make sure the valve moves freely.
- 4. Inspect basket gasket: Check the rubber gasket around the basket or brew head for cracks or flattening. Replace if worn.
