Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation openings, Failed cooling fan (if equipped), Stuck heating relay, Scale reducing water flow and causing localized overheating

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off and unplug the machine immediately. Allow it to cool for at least 45 minutes.

Cooling and ventilation:

  • Check vents: Ensure that the side and rear ventilation slots are not blocked by cabinets or objects. Maintain the clearance specified in the Gorenje manual.
  • Clean dust: Remove the housing and gently vacuum dust from the fan (if present), PCB, and vents.
  • Inspect fan: On models with a cooling fan, spin the fan blades by hand to ensure they move freely. Replace the fan if seized or noisy.
  • Descale: Run a full descaling cycle to improve water flow and reduce overheating in the thermoblock.

Warning: If the heater relay is stuck on or the thermal cut-out has permanently opened, the control board or thermostat must be replaced by a professional.
