Possible Causes
Misaligned water tank magnet or float, Dirty optical level sensor, Faulty reed switch or Hall sensor on chassis, Broken sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before accessing sensors.
Tank and sensor checks:
- Inspect float: Remove the water tank and check the internal float (if present). It should move freely. Clean any scale that may cause it to stick.
- Check magnet: Some tanks use a small magnet embedded in the float. Ensure it has not fallen out or shifted.
- Clean sensor window: If your model uses an optical sensor, clean the clear plastic window on the tank and the corresponding area on the machine.
- Test reed/Hall sensor: Inside the machine, locate the small sensor board near the tank area. Verify that the connector is secure. If the sensor does not change state when a magnet is brought near (tested with a multimeter), replace it.
Note: Do not glue magnets or floats in place; they must move freely for accurate level detection.
