Possible Causes
Internal leak filling base tray, Stuck float switch in base, Overfilled internal drip tray, Cracked boiler or thermoblock fitting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not continue using a machine that has leaked into the base.
Clearing the base tray:
- Access base: Remove the rear or bottom cover to access the base tray. Carefully tilt the machine to drain any water (protect surfaces with towels).
- Reset float: Locate the float switch (often a polystyrene float with a microswitch). Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck by scale or debris.
- Find the leak: With the covers off, fill the water tank and observe hoses, pump, thermoblock, and valves for drips. Replace any leaking hose, O-ring, or fitting.
- Dry thoroughly: Allow the base and switch to dry completely before reassembly.
Important: If the thermoblock or boiler itself is cracked, it must be replaced by a qualified technician.
