Possible Causes

Failed steam thermostat or sensor, Blocked steam nozzle or wand, Scale buildup in steam channel, Faulty steam solenoid valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine and wait until the boiler/thermoblock is completely cool. Steam circuits can cause severe burns.

Unblocking steam path:

  • Clean steam nozzle: Unscrew the steam tip (if removable) and soak it in descaling solution. Use a fine needle to clear any blocked holes.
  • Descale steam circuit: Run a descaling cycle focusing on the steam function as described in the Gorenje manual. Alternate between steam and hot water to flush the channels.
  • Check steam valve: Access the steam solenoid valve inside the machine. Inspect for scale deposits at the inlet and outlet. If the valve coil is open-circuit or the plunger is stuck, replace the valve.
  • Inspect thermostat/sensor: On some models, a separate steam thermostat is mounted on the boiler. Check for a tripped or open thermostat and replace with the same rating if faulty.

Note: If E7 persists after cleaning and descaling, the control board or temperature sensing circuit may be defective and should be serviced by a professional.
