Possible Causes
Weak heating element in aluminum block, Faulty temperature sensor calibration, Excessive scale insulating heater, Thermostat opening too early
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and cool the unit before descaling.
- Preheat the machine: Run a brew cycle with just water to warm the internal pathways before brewing coffee.
- Descale: Heavy scale can reduce heat transfer. Run a full descaling cycle with vinegar and water, then rinse thoroughly.
- Use preheated carafe: Rinse the carafe with hot tap water before brewing to reduce heat loss.
- If still lukewarm: The heater or thermostat may be failing. Measuring brew temperature with a thermometer (should be near 195–205°F/90–96°C at the outlet) can confirm. Replacement of the heater assembly may be required.
