Possible Causes
Airlock in inlet line, Blocked inlet filter screen in reservoir base, Failed vibration pump, Flow sensor (turbine) stuck or defective on some models
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the reservoir or accessing the base.
- Check water level: Ensure the reservoir is filled above the minimum line and properly seated.
- Clear airlock: Fill the reservoir, then remove and reinsert it several times to purge air. On some models, starting a brew with the unit tilted slightly backward can help move air bubbles out of the pump (do this carefully and only slightly).
- Clean inlet screen: Inspect the bottom of the reservoir for a small mesh screen or valve. Rinse under warm water and gently scrub with a soft brush to remove scale or debris.
- Descale: Run a descaling cycle with a vinegar-water solution to dissolve mineral buildup in the pump and flow sensor.
- If E6 persists: The vibration pump or flow sensor assembly is likely failing and should be replaced. This requires opening the unit and disconnecting silicone hoses and wiring.
