How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug before cleaning.

  • Initial cleaning cycles: Wash the reservoir, carafe, and filter basket with hot soapy water. Then run 2–3 full brew cycles with just water and discard the water.
  • Baking soda rinse: Dissolve 1–2 tablespoons of baking soda in a full reservoir of warm water and run a brew cycle, then rinse with 2 cycles of fresh water.
  • Avoid scented detergents: Use unscented dish soap to prevent additional flavors.
  • If taste persists after several cycles: There may be an issue with internal plastics; contact Gourmia support for possible replacement.
