Possible Causes
Grinder jammed with foreign object, Coffee beans stuck between burrs, Grinder motor failure, Grinder position sensor fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before touching the bean hopper or grinder area.
- Empty bean hopper: Remove all beans from the hopper. Use a vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle to remove loose fragments.
- Check for foreign objects: Look inside the hopper and visible grinder inlet for stones, wood chips, or other contaminants that may have come with the beans.
- Manually free the burrs (if accessible): Some Grundig models allow access to the upper burr. Remove it according to the manual and gently rotate it to free stuck beans. Do not force metal parts.
- Test without beans: With the hopper empty, plug in and start a coffee cycle. Listen for the grinder motor. If it hums but does not turn, it may be jammed; if it is silent, the motor or control board may be faulty.
- Service if unresolved: Persistent E06 usually indicates a failed grinder motor or sensor, which should be replaced by a technician.
