E09 appears and the milk frother or steam function does not work; coffee brewing may still be possible.

• Descale steam circuit: Run a descaling cycle focusing on the steam/hot water function as described in the Grundig manual. This can restore proper heating if scale is causing overheating.
• Clean steam wand: Remove the steam nozzle tip (if detachable) and soak it in hot water with a little descaler. Use a fine needle to clear the steam hole.
• Check for steam output: After cleaning and descaling, test the steam function. If there is no heat and E09 appears immediately, the steam thermoblock or sensor is likely defective.
• Professional repair: Replacement of the steam thermoblock or NTC involves high-voltage and high-temperature components. Have a qualified technician perform this repair.
