Possible Causes
Mineral scale in heater tube, Clogged reservoir outlet, Coffee oils and residue in brew basket outlet, Partially blocked drip stop valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Let the unit cool before disassembling the brew basket or reservoir.
Clean external flow paths:
- Remove the brew basket and clean the outlet hole and drip stop mechanism with hot soapy water and a small brush.
- Rinse the carafe lid thoroughly; some models route coffee through the lid.
- Clean the reservoir outlet and any mesh screen.
Descale internally:
- Run a 1:1 vinegar and water solution through a full brew cycle.
- Pause halfway for 20–30 minutes, then resume.
- Flush with 2–3 full reservoirs of clean water.
If brewing remains abnormally slow, internal tubing may be heavily scaled and the heater assembly may need replacement.
