Safety first: Unplug and let the unit cool before opening the lid. Escaping steam can burn.

• Check fill level: Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum coffee and water levels recommended for your Insignia model.
• Inspect lid gasket: Open the lid and examine the rubber gasket around the brew chamber. Clean it and the mating surface. Replace the gasket if cracked or flattened.
• Clean steam vent: Locate the small vent holes in the lid and clean them with a toothpick or soft brush to remove dried coffee residue.
• Use correct filter: Confirm you are using the proper size and shape of paper filter and that it is seated flat in the basket.

If leaks continue after cleaning and gasket inspection, the lid assembly may be warped and require replacement.
