Possible Causes

Blocked brew head or needle, Excessive pressure due to clogged pod, Faulty pressure sensor, Kinked internal silicone hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool fully. Pressurized hot water and steam can cause burns.

  • Remove pod or capsule: Open the brew head and remove any coffee pod. Check for deformation or tearing that may have caused blockage.
  • Clean the piercing needle: Use the cleaning tool supplied with the machine or a straightened paper clip to gently clear the holes in the top and bottom needles. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Descale the brew head: Run a descaling cycle focusing on the brew head area to remove scale that can restrict flow and increase pressure.
  • Inspect silicone hoses (advanced): With the cover removed (unplugged), check that the small silicone hoses from the pump to the brew head are not kinked or pinched.
  • Test without pod: Run a water-only cycle with no pod installed. If E8 only occurs with pods, the issue is likely blockage or incompatible pods. If it occurs even without pods, the pressure sensor or control board may be faulty.

Do not drill or enlarge the needle holes. If E8 continues, have the pressure sensor and internal tubing inspected by a technician.
