Possible Causes
Stuck float in water reservoir, Failed water level sensor, Misaligned reservoir, Dirty optical or magnetic sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before removing the reservoir.
- Reseat reservoir: Remove the water tank and reinstall it firmly. Ensure it sits flat and engages any bottom valve.
- Check float movement: If the reservoir has a visible float, move it up and down with a non-metallic tool. Clean any mineral buildup that may cause sticking.
- Clean sensor area: Wipe the area where the reservoir meets the machine, especially around any optical windows or magnetic sensors.
- Test with another reservoir: If available, try a different Kenmore reservoir to rule out a defective tank. If the error persists, the internal level sensor or reed switch may need replacement.
